Fast track to becoming a Confident, Super Productive user of Microsoft ® Excel
Are you wanting to fast track your way to becoming a more than proficient Level-1 user of Excel?
Maybe you're an absolute beginner...
Or, you may be self taught... or somebody (or many people) have shown you one or two things in Excel, but you know you still have knowledge gaps...
Or maybe you haven't used Excel in a while and you're in need of a quick refresher.
If any of these sound like you... this course is perfect for you!
Hi, I'm Sharyn Baines,
Certified Microsoft® Office Specialist
for Excel at Work
I've been training Excel for over two decades (I know!)
And it doesn't matter which industry I train for, the size of the business or the job role of the learner, I see the same fundamental tools used in Excel (the ones I cover in this course). Without a doubt, these Excel skills are a MUST to have in your 'tool-box'.
However it can be a little intimidating and majorly time-consuming to try to learn Excel without guidance.
What if you're missing a key understanding? A fundamental step that could have a huge impact on the quality and accuracy of your work?
That's where I can help.
Let me fast-track you to a place where you can confidently work in Excel.
Where you will avoid messing up calculations and having to ask for help from others.
I don’t know about you but asking for help once is normally fine. But when you have to ask multiple times for help it can make you feel embarrassed and like you are imposing on the other person.
But it doesn't need to be like this...
How would you like to CONFIDENTLY work in shared files AND confidently create your own files?

"Thank you so much"
Hi Sharyn. Thank you so much for a wonderful online Excel session. Your teaching approach was wonderful, encouraging and calm and very clear (tone). You were very encouraging and precise on what is important to remember and learn. Loved it and I have used my skills already which has made life much much easier. I thought I knew Excel well before this but there were so many new things I learned as well like Filtering. This is really cool. This is just one of the many things I learned. Thank you again.
Frequently asked Questions:
QUESTION #1: How much time will this take?
We suggest completing one module per week. There are 8 modules in total + 2 bonus modules. Each module's duration differs. Some take approx 30 minutes. Others nearly 2 hours. I've given you approx timings inside the learning. These timings are an approximate duration for when you're following along with me. Trying the exercises unassisted and reviewing your work will all take additional time.
Obviously, if you have a little experience you may take a shorter amount of time.
And if you are a newbie it may take a little longer...
But it's self-paced, so you've got no pressure at all.
Don't forget, you maintain access to the training and on-going updates for a whole year. I understand that having the ability to redo topics and do quick refreshers when required lifts your confidence AND your output. That's why we have made the training accessible for a generous amount of time PLUS you'll be able to download your workbook, notes, templates, cheat sheets and exercise files and keep them FOREVER.
So take as little or as much time as you like, and just know you can go back and review any topic at any time while you have an active subscription.
QUESTION #2: How quickly can I get started?
If you subscribe and pay online your access will arrive in your inbox within 5 to 10 minutes! So as soon as you subscribe you can expect to have your login details extremely quickly. If you have requested a GST invoice be sent prior to enrolment we will let you know when to expect your login details to arrive.
Once you have your login you'll be able to get started as soon as you want!
QUESTION #3: What software and hardware do I need?
Firstly, you'll need a copy of Excel. That's the full desktop application, not the online version that is part of the Office 365 offering. The online version doesn't have the full functionality that the desktop version of Excel has and even though you could try to follow along using the online version, it is quite different in parts and it may be a bit confusing for you.
The training is suitable for Excel 2010, 2013, 2016, 2019 and the latest desktop version of Excel for Office 365. In the videos I'm demonstrating using the Excel desktop version of Office 365. If you're unsure of the version you have contact us and we'll see if we can help out.
Obviously you'll need an internet connection, which I'm pretty sure you have since you are reading this right now. If your computer can easily run the video at the top of this page it should be absolutely fine to run the training.
The training can be watched on your tablet or smartphone. Great for quick refreshers. However, you will have the best experience using a desktop PC or laptop. Of course you can use a mixture of devices if you want to watch AND do at the same time! Watch on you iPad or phone and follow along with me in Excel on your laptop.
If you would like to create a printed copy of the workbook PDF then access to a printer would be helpful. However, you can easily access printing services at a local printing service provider, for example, Warehouse Stationery offer great printing and binding services. So a printer isn't mandatory.
QUESTION #4: Is there a guarantee this training will work for me?
This learning is designed to give you the best guidance and support I can give. However, I cannot make you do the learning...you'll need to put the work in.
I can guarantee that you will be following the same learning that many, many people have gone through, with fantastic results.
BUT...they completed the entire course.
I totally understand that life gets busy and time just seems to whiz by.
And that's fine, but without putting the work in you will just stay where you are, nothing will change right?
So, if you're ready to make a change, this is definitely the time to invest in becoming a more confident, super productive you!
Our 100% Satisfaction Guarantee*
If you make your way through the training and then decide you didn't learn a thing I want to give you your money back. At Excel at Work we believe our success depends on your success. We want you to become a confident, super productive user of Excel. If this course doesn't meet that objective for you, send me an email explaining your reason and we will refund you! *The only thing we ask is that you have completed all of the modules BEFORE you contact us.
QUESTION #5: How long do I have access to the training?
Your subscription is contract free and will give you access to the learning for 12-months, plus you'll be able to download the workbook, your course notes, the cheat-sheets, templates and exercise files and keep them FOREVER.
While you are an active subscriber you will receive any updates to this course for free.
Please note: I don't offer 'life-time' access due to the number of updates and improvements I continually add to the training. Microsoft are making continual improvements to their software which I then put into the learning. To be able to bring you the best and most up-to-date training I need your on-going support.
QUESTION #6: Can't you get this type of training for free on YouTube?
There really are a crazy amount of free videos on this topic which you can easily access online.
The thing is, they are disjointed. It's hard to follow from a starting point to an end point... knowing you have covered all of the topics that will have you working proficiently in Excel. What if you miss a key element? A fundamental step that could have a huge impact on your understanding! And well, there are so many options it can be overwhelming.
AND, a lot the teaching doesn't come from people who have worked closely with many, many businesses and hundreds of learners and who possibly don't have the understanding of what you need to truly become proficient.
Even though the training is free you may find yourself wasting a HUGE amount of your precious time trying to join all of the topics together to make sense of the learning.
Best you join me where I can guide you, helping you improve and progress step-by-step, click-by-click, and where you can be confident you are covering those key topics that give you a really solid understanding of the essential skills required to be a proficient Stage 1 user of Excel.
QUESTION #7: Is there support as I go through the course?
Absolutely! You can email us any time you have a question. We're here to help!
QUESTION #8: What if I subscribe and find the course isn't for me?
If you make your way through the training and then decide you didn't learn a thing I want to give you your money back. At Excel at Work we believe our success depends on your success. We want you to become a confident, super productive user of Excel. If this course doesn't meet that objective for you, send me an email explaining your reason and we will refund you! The only thing we ask is that you have completed all of the modules BEFORE you contact us.
QUESTION #9: Is this training suitable for the Mac version of Excel?
No, sorry. Even though you would most likely learn a lot that would be applicable to the Mac version, the training has been created for the Windows version for PC only.
QUESTION #11: What age is this appropriate for?
The training is aimed at adults so the minimum age we recommend is 18 years old. We look forward to hearing from you again when you are over 18.
QUESTION #12: Are the certificates endorsed by Microsoft?
No – the certificate isn’t part of the Microsoft® certification stream. If this is what you are looking for please visit the Microsoft® Learning, certifications and exams page
QUESTION #13: I have other questions. How do I reach you?
You can reach me or a member of the Excel at Work team on email@example.com. We look forward to hearing from you.
